I made Iris Nut Bowl on the potter’s wheel. It has a flat bottom and overlapping purple and cream glazes. I call this glaze application “Iris”. It’s not really the color of an iris, which is more of a blue purple. This Iris glaze is more of a red purple, but somehow it makes me think of them. The union of the two glazes creates a lace effect. I like this added interest. Sometimes I splash a bit of gold glaze inside as well.
Iris nut bowl serves up guacamole, salsa, dips, nuts, ice cream, or berries. How about pickles, olives, or pretzels? Use it to float flowers or to hold a candle. You can’t have too many of these handy little bowls.
