I made Iris Soap Dish on the potter’s wheel in two-pieces using stoneware clay. It is designed to drain the water from soap so the soap doesn’t get mushy. And its’ easy to clean. Simply slide the top off, dump the water from the well, and rinse the plate. I cut out a pattern in each dish, making the holes large enough so the soap does not clog the openings. The two pieces are dipped in a green and then cream glaze; and then fired to 2200 degrees F.
