I made Purple Rain Sugar on the potters wheel, with a seated lid and a flat bottom. A rounded knob makes it easy to grasp the lid.
The Purple Rain glaze consists of overlapping purple matte, red gold, and green glazes. I dip the main part of the jar in the purple matte glaze that I make. Then I over lap with red gold and again with a copper green. The result is a sheeting, or rain, of color.
Store your favorite sweetener for a pinch or teaspoon ready when you need it. Or store sweetener packets. Keep it on the table or by the stove. Or use as a salt cellar. Maybe the coin from your pockets needs a catching jar. Or your paper clips or rubber banks need a gathering pot.
You can even bake a little brie or dip in this gem. Use it to serve salsa and then cover and pop the left overs in the refrigerator!
Purple Rain Sugar makes a great gift when you are the guest at dinner or a holiday soiree; or to say “happy birthday”, “welcome to the neighborhood”, or “thank you”!
It’s a little treasure for the right stuff.
