I made Taos Barrel Mug on the potter’s wheel and pulled the handle directly from the body of the pot. I give the handle a little bead of clay for the thumb to rest or push and ponder. People seem to like that. The bottom is flat. The rim is beaded so it’s comfortable on the lip and won’t chip easily.
I call the glaze “Taos” because it is reminiscent of the natural landscape of Northern New Mexico. Overlapping glazes: blue (big sky), green (pinons), cream (clouds), and gold (sunlight and magic).
Taos Barrel Mug stands about 5″ high. It is dishwasher and microwave safe.
