Taos Bloom Condiment Caddy is a popular item. I make the caddy from three cups (8 oz each) that I throw on the wheel and then trim; and then attach the cups to one another and reinforce the connections on top and underneath. I roll a clay handle with texture, then attach it where the 3 bowls meet at the top. Each cup is approximately 3” Dia. x 3” H.
I am calling the surface design “Taos Bloom” because the daubing of the red gold glaze over the surface of the blue creates blooms. Taos Bloom Condiment Caddy is dipped into a floating blue glaze that I make, and then the handle and rim are dipped again in a red gold glaze. The bowls are also lined with red gold glaze (different from picture. new picture to follow) The blue is dark like cobalt. I gave this caddy a handle built from rolled and textured coils, which resembles a rope. This is a light-weight, well-balanced piece. The handle is easy to grasp and is comfortable as well.
Serve your favorite combinations of condiments to family and guests: salsa, guacamole, and pico de gallo; varieties of olives or nuts; pretzels or chips; and dips…this caddy makes it easy to bring it!
Some folks even use the caddy for cosmetic accessories. Caddies make great organizers! They also make great gifts for all occasions: thank you, housewarming, birthday, wedding, holidays.
Microwave and oven safe.
