You asked for them, you got them! Espresso cups. I made Taos Bloom Espresso Pair on the potter’s wheel from stoneware clay. Working small can be challenging! The cups hold about 3 oz of espresso and sit snugly in a matching saucer. I pulled the little handles directly from the little cups and added a wee thumb stop.
Once the cups and saucers were trimmed, dried, and fired to bisqued, I glazed each part with a cobalt/navy blue with daubs of red gold on the outside. The daubs create “blooms” of brighter blue across the surface. I call this glaze technique, “Taos Bloom”. I lined the cups with a red gold glaze.
Enjoy your favorite espresso, or perhaps green tea, with your favorite friend or companion. Oo la la.
Fired to 2200 degrees F. Safe for dishwasher and microwave.
