I made Taos Genie Oil Pourer on the potter’s wheel from stoneware clay. It has an elegant shape with a full round body and a long neck which makes a natural area to grasp. It sits on a flat bottom. A balanced pour. The silicone cork fits snugly in the neck and will not leak. The pourer has a cap.
The “Taos Bloom” glaze is what I call the daubing application I have recently added to the mix. I start by covering the entire form with the Floating Blue glaze I make, then I daub the red gold glaze over the surface with a fat paint brush. I also dip the neck in the red gold glaze. Unlike the “Taos” glaze I have developed by combining four different glazes, Taos Bloom glaze feels more floral…or, perhaps references the sky with its parade of puffy clouds.
Fill Taos Genie Oil Pourer with an oil you use frequently. Continuous use will keep the oil fresh and will avoid the need to wash the pourer. If you do need to wash the pourer, use a bottle brush and sit the pourer upside down to drain.
Makes a great gift for birthday, holiday, wedding, anniversary, house warming, and, well, any occasion.
Glazed on the inside as well as the outside.
