I made Taos Tall Serving Bowl on the potter’s wheel with stoneware clay and then trimmed a foot. This is a medium sized serving bowl with a slightly taller profile.
I call the glaze combination ‘Taos” because the overall effect is reminiscent of the natural environment in Northern New Mexico. I layer 4 different glazes in a process I have developed which involves dipping, pouring, splashing, and trailing. Blue, green, and cream glazes I make myself; and I purchase the red gold glaze.
The melding of the glazes is somewhat unique each time, making a place setting interesting and not too matchy-matchy. The effects are consistent enough, however, to build your collection piece by piece.
Use this bowl for serving sides or a large salad; or, use Taos Tall Serving Bowl as a mixing bowl or even a fruit bowl. And it’s lightweight, balanced, and durable.
Makes a great wedding gift, anniversary gift, house warming gift, and will compliment any dining or serving table and home decor.
Fired to 2200 degrees F. Oven and dishwasher safe.
9.25″ Diameter x 4.5″ High.
Compared to Taos Cereal Bowl.
