Description

I made Verde Man Handle Mug on the potter’s wheel using stoneware clay. The bottom is flat.  Pulling the handle directly from the body of the mug gives the attachment a natural and comfortable look and feel.  And there is ample room for larger hands with enough heft in the handle to get your hands around it.  I add a thumb stop, which people really seem to like.

I use a tire weight that I found along the roadside to stamp the mug on both sides. Tire weights fall off of cars a lot up north in New Mexico and they get smashed in different ways, which makes using them in stamped designs fun and interesting.

Overlapping green (Verde) and cream glazes creates a clean and tailored design.  I fire all my pottery to at least 2200 degrees F.  Stoneware is a strong and durable ceramic and stoneware pottery holds the temperature of the liquid in your mug hot or cold longer than those slip cast commercially stamped out mugs.  You’ll never go back!

Verde Man Handle Mug makes a great birthday, holiday, housewarming, thank you, or anytime gift.
