I made Wood fired small serving bowl on the potter’s wheel from stoneware clay. It has a slight trimmed foot.
The outside of the bowl is bare clay with only fly ash and a swath of salt glazing. The deep color brown is due to the iron in the clay and the oxygen reducing atmosphere of the kiln. I decorated the inside of this Wood Fired Small Serving Bowl with slip and completed the design with spontaneous brushwork.
Use for serving any side dish, as well as salad, soup, or pasta. Serve up your favorite chips. Use in tea ceremony or to float flowers or candles.
Fired to 2350 degrees F in a wood kiln. The results are unique and distinctive. Dishwasher, microwave, oven safe.
