I made Wood Fired Wine Cup from white stoneware clay on the potter’s wheel. It is deliciously shaped to fit in the hand; and I added dimples to either side for a comfy grasp.
I fired Wood Fired Wine Cup in my wood burning kiln for 32 hours. I left the exterior of the body bare with just brushwork because I like the way the white stoneware flashes in areas to a peach color. In other areas a soft gray. There are passages of salt glazing as well.
Mesmerize your senses with the smoothness of the cup’s surface and its balanced weight in your hand.
Lined with a celedon glaze and a glazed rim. Completely food safe. Use for wine or coffee or any hot or cold beverage. It’s just the right size, about 4″ high.
