I made Midnight Magic Too serving bowl on the potter’s wheel from stoneware clay, which is a tan-to-light brown color. Deep bowl with 1.25″ ledge and slight trimmed foot.
Midnight Magic Too serving bowl gets its surface beauty from a combination of techniques using 2 glazes, 1 of which I make myself. First I sink the entire bowl in a floating blue glaze. Most of the bowl is a dark, midnight, blue. But the interior of the bowl is brighter where the glaze collected. Next I use a sash brush to trail red gold glaze and then daub here and there. For the final accent, I dip the wide ledge of the bowl face down in the red gold. When the moon hits the midnight sky. Midnight magic.
Serve pastas, salads, sides, or dinner roles. Use as a fruit bowl on the table. Or simply display on your table or sideboard. Makes a great gift for wedding, housewarming, or any occasion. Medium weight, well-balanced. Durable.
