Taos Condi, condiment caddie, is a popular item. I construct the caddie from 3 cups that I throw on the wheel and then trim. Then I attach the cups to one another and reinforce the connections on top and underneath. I roll a clay handle with texture and attach it where the 3 bowls meet at the top. Each cup is approximately 3” Dia. x 3” H. I build the handle from rolled and textured coils, which resemble rope.
Taos Condi is a combination of 4 glazes. First I the upper portion of the caddie in a floating blue glaze that I make, and then line each bowl with the same blue. Next I dip the lower 1/4 of the caddie in a copper green glaze that I make. Then I trail a cream rust over the seam where the two glazes meet. For the finale, I dip the handle and rim in a red gold glaze and trail the red gold inside the bowls as well. The melding of the glazes creates a modulated, almost dimensional, surface.
This is a light-weight, well-balanced piece. The handle is easy to grasp and is comfortable as well.
Serve your favorite combinations of condiments to family and guests: salsa, guacamole, and pico de gallo; varieties of olives or nuts; pretzels or chips; and dips…this condiment caddie makes it easy to bring it!
Some folks even use the caddie for cosmetic accessories. Caddies make great organizers! They also make great gifts for all occasions: thank you, housewarming, birthday, wedding, holidays.
