Description

I made Taos Sugar on the potters wheel, with a domed lid and knotted finial.  A low profile jar, wider than it is high.

The ‘Taos’ glaze consists of overlapping blue, green, cream, & gold glazes.  I dip and pour the 4 glazes in a technique I have developed that results in a surface that references Northern New Mexico:  blue skies, green mountains, cream puff clouds, and golden sunshine.  There are some intriguing passages on this surface with some red browns like a faint hit of mountains.

Store sugar or salt or store sweetener packets.  Keep it on the table or by the stove.  Maybe the coins from your pockets need a catching jar.  Or your paper clips need a gathering pot.  Cotton balls in the bathroom.  Or candies on a side table.

You can even bake a little brie or dip in this gem.  Use it to serve salsa and then cover and pop the leftovers in the refrigerator!

Taos Sugar makes a great gift when you are the guest at dinner or a holiday soiree.  Or a “happy birthday”, “welcome to the neighborhood”, or “thank you” gift!

It’s a little treasure for the right stuff.

Fired to 2200 degrees F.  Oven, microwave, dishwasher safe.
