Description
I made Tempest Oil Pourer on the potter’s wheel from stoneware clay. It has an elegant bottle shape with a neck you can grasp easily and pour. It sits on a flat bottom. A balanced pour. The silicone cork fits snugly in the neck and will not leak.
I have developed a technique for combining three different glazes that results in a lovely overlapping of surfaces that often feel wild like a tempest! I overlap purple matte, floating blue, and criss-cross the red gold. For some added interest, I daub the red gold over the blue and purple creating blooms over the surface. The kiln does the rest, producing a melding combination that is endlessly fascinating.
Fill Tempest Oil Pourer with an oil you use frequently. Continuous use will keep the oil fresh and will avoid the need to wash the pourer. If you do need to wash the pourer, use a bottle brush and sit the pourer upside down to drain.
Makes a great gift for birthday, holiday, wedding, anniversary, house warming, and, well, any occasion.
Glazed on the inside as well as the outside.
Fired to 2200 degrees F.
Approximately 8″ high (to top of ceramic neck). Pouring spout included.
