Description
I made Wood Fired Shino Pitcher on the potter’s wheel from stoneware clay and pulled the handle directly from the pot. It has a tapered bottom, shino, natural ash, and salt glazes. I like to set off the surface with energetic brushwork. Wood Fired Shino Pitcher is light-weight and well balanced, with a smooth pouring spout.
Serve iced tea, iced water, milk, or hot coffee; whatever your favorite cold or hot beverages. Stoneware pottery holds the temperature of its contents much better than commercial slip ware. Use the pitcher for your favorite flowers. Start a pitcher collection or add to an existing one!
I fired Wood Fired Shino Pitcher to 2350 degrees F in a wood burning kiln for 32 hours.
