I made Floating Blue Lil Pitcher on the potter’s wheel from stoneware clay and pulled the handle directly from the body of the pot, adding a thumb stop for comfort. With a classic shape and a flat bottom that sits firmly on the table, Floating Blue Lil Pitcher is as practical as it is lovely.
The glaze is simple. It’s a floating blue recipe I’ve mixed for 20 years. Smooth to the touch. Breaks over the edges. Like your favorite faded jeans.
People love to collect these smaller pitchers because there is always enough space in the cupboard or on a shelf for them and they are such little gems. But you can use this for milk, cream, syrup, or salad dressing. Even gravy during the holidays. This little pitcher makes a sweet flower vase as well. Fired to 2200 degrees F. Dishwasher, microwave safe. Allow a refrigerated creamer to come to room temperature before heating in a microwave.
